'Brave' boost to tourism

Clydesdale Constituency MSP Aileen Campbell is looking forward to a tourism boost for Clydesdale as a result of the Disney-Pixar hit film ‘Brave’.

@The film, which has been a huge hit in the USA, opens across Scotland on August 3rd and UK-wide on August 13th.

VisitScotland have collaborated with Disney-Pixar on a £7million marketing campaign to promote Scottish tourism alongside the film.

Aileen said:

“This wonderful animated film provides an incredible opportunity to showcase Scotland across the world.

“It’s been given resounding thumbs up by audiences in America and will be shown in more than 70 countries across the globe.

“This is a great opportunity for businesses in Clydesdale focusing on tourism and outdoor activities. It’s been estimated that the film will provide a £140m boost to the Scottish economy.  One of the lead characters is a Clydesdale Horse called Angus – so this link to the historic home of the Clydesdale - our beautiful part of Scotland - is something we should maximise to our benefit.

“Not only does Clydesdale have some of the best scenery in Scotland, wonderful wildlife and places of historic importance related to some of the most colourful moments in Scottish history. We also have talented people, a host of galas and festivals and some of the best produce from Scotland’s larder, with which to welcome visitors.

“Clydesdale will provide fans of the film the ultimate ‘Brave’ experience when they come to Scotland.
