Clydesdale MSP Aileen Campbell is encouraging Clydesdale groups with green ambitions to apply to the Green Grants initiative to try and secure funding for local environmental projects.
The initiative, which is in its second year, is run by the Green Insurance Company and is offering a one-off grant of up to £10,000 for a special project with the remaining £30,000 available in grants of up to £2,000.
The awards help to promote sustainable living in local communities and application forms are available online at http://www.greeninsurancegiving.co.uk/grants.php. Applications must be submitted by 30th November 2011.
A panel of environmental experts including representatives from the Royal Scottish Geographical Society, Glasgow University, the RSPB and The National Trust for Scotland will review all applications with the first announcements in January 2012.
Commenting, Aileen Campbell said:
“Local groups in Clydesdale who are seeking to make their community more sustainable should consider applying to the Green Grants initiative.
“We already have local groups like Clydesdale Community Initiative undertaking excellent work improving the local environment and I hope Clydesdale organisations which apply are successful in the Green Grants initiative.
