Back to the Farm for Local MSP Aileen Campbell

Clydesdale MSP Aileen Campbell took advantage of NFU Scotland’s offer to visit a farm in her constituency.  Aileen visited Clydesdale dairy farmer Tom Yuill. She was taken on a tour of his farm and also took the time to discuss the issues facing dairy farm

As a farmer’s daughter and former member of the Rural Committee, Aileen has a keen interest in the rural sector and was pleased to have the opportunity to find out the views and opinions of farmers in Clydesdale.

MSPs from across the political spectrum have taken advantage of the Union’s invitation to visit farms throughout Scotland and build the relationship between farmers and Scottish politicians.

Commenting, Aileen Campbell said:

“I was delighted to take up NFU Scotland’s invitation to visit a farm in my constituency and I received a very warm welcome from Mr Yuill and his family.

“The visit gave me the opportunity to spend time on the farm and discuss the issues facing dairy farmers.

“I think everyone recognises that the last few years have been a difficult period for the dairy sector, but I know that the Rural Secretary, Richard Lochhead remains committed to supporting our important agricultural sector.”
