Campbell Welcomes News of Lottery Award Finalist

Aileen Campbell, SNP MSP for South of Scotland, has welcomed news that local organisation, Sportworx, has made it through to the final of Best Sports Project category in the UK National Lottery Awards.  The organisation, which has run events at Lesmahagow High, Larkhall UC and Carluke leisure centre, provides young people with the opportunities and skills to become sports coaches.

Campbell Invites Constituents to ‘Take Tea With Your MSP’: Summer Surgeries to be held in Local Hotels and Coffee Shops - w/b Monday 19th July

Aileen Campbell, SNP MSP for South of Scotland, has announced a summer surgery programme with a difference.  Constituents in the region will be invited to meet with Aileen to discuss any concerns or issues they have in hotels, cafés and coffee shops across the area, rather than usual venues of local and community halls.

Campbell Meets Clydesdale Lottery Beneficiaries

Aileen Campbell, SNP MSP for South of Scotland, has spent one of the first days of the Scottish Parliament’s summer recess visiting a range of local community projects that have benefited from Lottery funding. Her tour, accompanied by Big Lottery’s Public Affairs Manager in Scotland, John Duncan, took her to St Bride’s Community Centre in Douglas, Carstairs Bowling Club, and the Clydesdale Befrienders group in Lanark.

Campbell Comments on Overburns Quarry Decision

Commenting on the decision by South Lanarkshire Council’s Planning Committee to reject the application for a sand and gravel quarry at Overburns Farm, near Lamington, Aileen Campbell MSP said: 

“This is a very welcome decision and a huge victory for the local community who have campaigned so hard against the proposal.
