Aileen Campbell, SNP MSP for South of Scotland has once again joined guests at New Lanark’s Midsummer roof garden celebration.  Among the guests at the event on Sunday 20th June were local SNP Councillor George Sutherland and his wife Emma, and Aileen’s office manager Gloria Mitchell and husband Tom.

Commenting, Aileen Campbell MSP said: 

“The midsummer celebration on New Lanark’s roof garden is one of the highlights of this time of year, and I was delighted to take part once again. 

“The past few months have seen important developments at New Lanark, with the visit of the Culture Minister, the announcement of free travel for school trips to the site, and the award from the Scottish Government’s Rural Priorities Scheme of over £650,000 to stabilise the retaining wall – all of which added to the celebratory atmosphere. 

“The floral displays were beautiful, with great music, good company and fine weather.  It was a glorious way to spend midsummer.”
