Campbell Enjoys Lanimer Celebrations

Aileen Campbell, SNP MSP for South of Scotland, was among the thousands of visitors and Lanark residents who took part in the annual Lanark Lanimer celebration, including the procession and crowning of the Lanimer Queen on Thursday 10th June.

Commenting, Aileen Campbell MSP said:

“It’s always an honour to take part in the Lanimer Procession, and Lanarkians are rightly proud of this historic tradition in the town.

“The day is a wonderful occasion for residents and visitors alike, and in particular it is great to see so many young families taking part and passing on the traditions to the next generation.

“I congratulate Lanimer Queen Carrie Elliot and Lord Cornet Geoff Smith, and all their attendants and supporters on carrying out their tasks so well this year, and I look forward to participating in Lanimers in the years ahead.”
