Campbell Invites Regional Rural Stakeholders to Meet Cabinet Secretary

Meeting with Richard Lochhead, Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs:  Thursday 11th March, 7pm for 7.30pm, Lanark Auction Market

Aileen Campbell, SNP MSP for South of Scotland, has invited representatives of the rural community in the South of Scotland to a meeting with Richard Lochhead MSP, the Scottish Government’s Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs and the Environment.  The meeting will be held on the evening of Thursday 11th March at the Lawrie & Symington Auction Market in Lanark.

Commenting, Aileen Campbell MSP said:

“The Scottish Government has been taking action to help the rural community during the economic downturn, and I am keen to make sure stakeholders across the South of Scotland region have the opportunity to hear at first had what support is available.

“This will also be a great opportunity for rural representatives to discuss with the Cabinet Secretary any questions they may have about issues ranging from electronic sheep ID to funding opportunities, promoting local produce to protecting local wildlife.

“I’ve invited a broad range of representatives from across the region, and anyone else who is interested in attending is welcome to contact my office for more information.”
