| Campbell Wears Red for Haiti |
|
Aileen Campbell, SNP MSP for South of Scotland, joined parliamentary colleagues in a colourful cross-party show of support and solidarity with the people of Haiti on Thursday as part of RedDay4Haiti. RedDay4Haiti is an attempt to raise awareness of the aftermath of the earthquake in Haiti among schools and communities. Speaking outside the debating chamber, Aileen Campbell MSP said: "The official RedDay4Haiti is in fact on Friday, but as we will all be in our own constituencies on that day, Thursday is the best opportunity for MSPs to wear red in the chamber and raise awareness, and there was many Parliamentary staff doing the same throughout the building. "I understand that the RedDay4Haiti theme has already been taken up by schools across the country and I am sure that school pupils in South of Scotland will be taking part as well. "This is an extremely good cause and I hope that as many people as possible will join in and wear something red on Friday, whether to school or work, and raise some money for Haiti."
