Farmers Market Will Be A Boost to Biggar, Says Campbell

Aileen Campbell, SNP MSP for South of Scotland, has welcomed the news that the Lanarkshire Farmers Market will visit Biggar on four occasions this year.

The market’s organisers have been granted a licence to operate in the town’s Municipal Hall on Saturdays 13th February, 29th May, 14th August and 30th October. Aileen has lodged a motion in the Scottish Parliament to show her support and raise awareness of the market.

Commenting, Aileen Campbell MSP said:

"The farmer’s market coming to Biggar will add to the vibrancy of the town and I hope it will attract extra visitors from across the area, giving a boost to the rest of the town’s.

"Four visits a year is probably a good balance between providing extra choice for local residents and making sure there is still plenty of business for the permanent shops and stores.

"It’s an indication of how popular and valued the wonderful produce of the Clyde Valley area is, and I’m looking forward to paying a visit to the Farmers Market when it comes to Biggar."
