Voting Age For Referendum

Aileen Campbell, MSP for the South of Scotland, has welcomed an announcement from the Scottish Government that it intends to allow 16- and 17-year olds vote in a referendum on Scotland’s constitutional future.  The announcement came in a letter to Aileen from Mike Russell MSP, Minister for the Constitution.  Aileen had contacted the Minister after 16-year-old Carluke resident Euan Purchase asked Aileen for information about the Government’s plans.
